Dakine Backpacks - Dakine was started in 1979 by Rob Kaplan, as a surf accessory company in Hawaii. The saying "DA KINE" existed long before that and comes from Local Hawaiian slang called "Pidgen". Dakine can mean anything: "the place", "that guy", "that stuff I was supposed to bring". The Dakine surf backpacks, like the Dakine Interval Backpack, have a removable seam sealed wetsuit/board short bag that allows you to keep your wet stuff away from your dry stuff while cruising the beach.
